How secure is UNDERGROUND and what can others do to read your messages?
UNDERGROUND security while you are communicating:
- They may tap your line
- They may monitor and record your data stream
- There may be a man in the middle attack, e.g. your Telecom Provider
- You may tell them your login name
- You may tell them where you are
- You may tell them who you are communicating with
- You may tell them that you are using UNDERGROUND
- They may know exactly how UNDERGROUND works
- You may give them a copy of your UNDERGROUND USB Stick
As long as they do not have your Master Password it is impossible to read any of your messages while you are logged in.
UNDERGROUND security when you are finished communicating and logged out:
- They may have recorded your communication
- You may tell them who you have communicated with
- You may tell them what you where talking about
- You may tell them that you have used UNDERGROUND
- They may know exactly how UNDERGROUND works
- They may confiscate your PC and investigate it in a laboratory
- They may seize your UNDERGROUND USB Stick
- You may even tell them your Master Password.
It does not make the slightest bit of difference. Once logged out there is no way to retrieve your old messages. If you logged out, even your own UNDERGROUND software is not able to decrypt its previous messages.
